APPLICATIONS OF OUR PRODUCTS

Hoses for autoclaves

Autoclaves are typically used for vulcanizing rubber products, curing plastics and bonding metal, glass, graphite, or other dissimilarmaterials into composites.

Industries using autoclaves include automotive, rubber and plastics, textile, electrical and electronics, chemical, medical and pharmaceutical, wood and building products, metallurgical, food processing, nuclear, aircraft and aerospace.
Unigasket offers many flexible hoses suitable for autoclave applications.

Unigasket hoses are capable of rapid connection, withstand externalpositive pressures, and hold up to high heat within the chamber.

The Unigasket benefits:

  • Inert to hot air and adhesive vapor fumes in a continuous operating environment of 400°F to 450°F
  • No absorption of moistureOutstanding resistance to collapse/kinking
  • Permanently attached fittings versus reusables
  • Superior resistance to flex fatigue
  • Dependable and versatile
  • Longer service life
  • Less product loss
  • Higher productivity
  • Less maintenance
  • Higher margin of safety
  • Reliable performance

Industrial robotics

Today, sophisticated, programmable robots are being used to vastly improve industrial and commercial operations.

Hydraulically powered robots are capable of generating very large forces for the difficult functions they must perform.

To be reliable and accurate, they must depend on hydraulic fluid lines. Unigasket PTFE hoses are being used on robots equipped with grippers to convey phosphate ester hydraulic fluids at high pressures and high temperature.

The Unigasket benefit:

  • Inert to hot air and adhesive vapor fumes in a continuous operating environment of 400°F to 450°F
  • No absorption of moistureOutstanding resistance to collapse/kinking
  • Permanently attached fittings versus reusables
  • Superior resistance to flex fatigue
  • Dependable and versatile
  • Longer service life
  • Less product loss
  • Higher productivity
  • Less maintenance
  • Higher margin of safety
  • Reliable performance

Air compressor hose fittings

Portable and stationary air compressors of single and multi-stagedesign are used worldwide for a host of air-power requirements including pneumatic construction tools, street and highway maintenance, quarrying and mining, petroleum research and development, pneumaticinstrumentation systems in the chemical, petrochemical and refiningindustries and for main air systems aboard ships.

Unigasket PTFE hoses convey the compressed air from one stage to the next through a common junction block.

The Unigasket Benefit:

  • Inert to hot air and adhesive vapor fumes in a continuous operating environment of 400°F to 450°F
  • No absorption of moistureOutstanding resistance to collapse/kinking
  • Permanently attached fittings versus reusables
  • Superior resistance to flex fatigue
  • Dependable and versatile
  • Longer service life
  • Less product loss
  • Higher productivity

Injection molding machine

The 27 billion pounds of plastics produced in this country in the mid1970’s found use in every major market in the U.S. Automobiles, boats, construction, packaging, electrical / electronics, pipe and fittingsand consumer goods.

Today, more than ever, injection molded productsare found everywhere. The success of Injection Molding processing lies in the precise control of material component flow at high pressures.

Unigasket hoses have the ability to withstand continuous high pressures and temperatures, easily accommodate the numerous tight bends of the installation, have low volumetric expansion and are superior to clean.

The Unigasket Benefit:

  • Superior resistance to urethane monomers and abrasive fillers
  • Non-stick and cleanable
  • Higher operating temperature range versus rubber hydraulic hoses
  • Easily withstands the 400°F hot oil media
  • Greater hose flexibility
  • Easier to handle
  • Minimum downtime by preventing material build-up
  • No contamination of critical materials
  • High productivity and reliability
  • Greater safety and operating efficiency
  • Less maintenance costLonger service life

Hot presses and platen presses

Of the various presses manufactured today, perhaps the most predominateare those employed in the wood, wood products, and plastics laminating industries.

They are essential for the manufacture of plywood andcomposition boards (particleboard, hardboard, medium densityfiberboard, etc.); for the manufacture of high and low pressure decorative laminates, veneers, film and fiber overlays; and for thelamination of plastic credit cards and compact discs.

The curing fluid is often steam, hot water, hot oil, or alternatingsteam and cold water.

Unigasket hoses are specifically designed tohandle these fluids reliably.

The Unigasket Benefit:

  • Inert to steam/hot oil for continuous operating temperatures to 400°F
  • Capable of handling thermal cycling (alternating steam and cold water service) versus rubber hose
  • Conductive lined hose eliminates potential electrostatic build-up
  • Dependable and versatile
  • Longer service life
  • Less product loss and downtime
  • Improved press productivity
  • Greater safety and reliability

Paint and coating manufaturing

Paint spray equipment requires flexible hose with stringent operating characteristics. Whether this equipment is used by the professional amateur to refinish an automobile or to coat a small appliance, everyspray gun system requires durable, reliable, high quality components to produce a high quality paint job. Many of these systems must handle hot spray at critical temperatures at which rubber hoses often embrittleand crack over time.

Unigasket PTFE hoses are the perfect solution. Capable of withstanding vibration, high temperatures and tight installations, Unigasket hoses are constructed with a non-stick, non-contaminating inner core that won’t clog equipment and can be easily cleaned.

The Unigasket Benefit:

  • Non-contaminating and resistant to all paint and coating chemicals, solvents and additives
  • Outstanding non-stick qualities which minimize chemical component blockage
  • Higher operating temperatures versus rubber and thermoplastic hoses
  • Smaller ID hoses do not clog or restrict flow
  • Lowest coefficient-of-friction and lowest pressure drop versus other hose types
  • Unaffected by exposure to sunlight, high or low humidity
  • Insures batch purity and consistency
  • Reduces equipment cleaning time
  • Less maintenance
  • Higher productivity
  • Greater safety and operating efficiency
  • Faster spraying times
  • Lower overall operating costs
  • Unlimited shelf life
  • Dependable
